On-the-job Training
This program will be delivered and assessed in the workplace involving face-to-face training and assessment, as part of the on the job workplace-based learning.
Our industry qualified trainers will negotiate with the employer and apprentice as to when training is to occur in the workplace and to when face-to-face training and assessment for each unit of competency will occur.
The frequency of visits will depend on many factors: the capability of the trainee, how the trainee is progressing through theory tasks using the hard copy resources/workbooks provided, the nature of work conducted on the work site, and the availability of the trainee and the employer/ workplace supervisor.
Our trainers play a crucial role in providing progress timelines for the trainee to ensure that the activities are in line with the trainees training plan. The trainer will consult with the on-site supervisor (or business owner in small to medium sized enterprises) to obtain feedback on the trainees progress during each visit. It is expected that each workplace visits will involve some assessment as well as the face-to-face training.
