RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction (General)

The General Stream of the RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction covers a broad range of skills in varied work context including road and earthworks, excavation, site maintenance and traffic control as well as underground services and elevated work platforms. Working in the civil construction industry you will learn to work with machinery and equipment in a range of civil construction settings. This may range from preparation work on new housing or industrial estates, to working on local roads and freeways.

Entry Requirements

There are no educational entry requirements for this qualification, however participants must:

Be 15 years old or over (if you’re under 18, your parent or guardian must sign the enrolment form on your behalf).
Be competent in written and spoken English. All prospective students will undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) evaluation prior to commencing the training.
Be a Trainee and have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Be registered with an Apprenticeship Centre and have a training agreement with a registered employer from a relevant industry.

Before enrolling in this course, you must successfully complete the WHS Induction Training (CGIT Card/White Card etc) which will allow you entry into a construction worksite.

Duration

Maximum of 30 months. Duration will vary depending on individual circumstances.

Assessment Methods

This program is hands on and will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to undertake a range of manual tasks and operate machinery on construction sites. After successfully completing this course, you will have a solid foundation of the skills and knowledge needed to work in the civil construction industry.

This course is delivered with both theory and practical elements.

Assessments are completed to measure your skills and knowledge against the training qualification requirements and those of the industry. The assessment process will include written and practical presentations, observation.
