On-the-job Training
This program will be delivered and assessed in the workplace. This will involve face-to-face training and assessment, as part of the on the job workplace-based learning.
Our industry qualified trainers will negotiate with the employer and apprentice as to when training is to occur in the workplace and to when face-to-face training and assessment for each unit of competency will occur.
The frequency of visits will depend on many factors: the capability of the apprentice, how the apprentice is progressing through theory tasks using the hard copy resources/workbooks provided, the nature of work conducted on the work site, and the availability of the apprentice and the employer/ workplace supervisor.
Our trainers will also play a crucial role in providing progress timelines for the apprentice to ensure that the activities are in line with the apprentices’ training plan. The trainer will consult with the on-site supervisor (or business owner in small to medium sized enterprises) to obtain feedback on the apprentice’s progress during each visit. It is expected that each workplace visits will involve some assessment as well as the face-to-face training.
